Profile: Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue provides fire protection and emergency medical services to approximately 454,000 citizens in one of Oregon's fastest growing regions. Pete Scott, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue's Media Services Manager, relies on Media 100 to edit community outreach videos as well as training-related videos for emergency personnel.
Pete has been using Media 100 since the 1990s and he recently upgraded to the latest version for $99. Although he has dabbled with other editing systems, he has always come back to Media 100 for his training, educational, and promotional videos.
"Media 100 provides effective and easy-to-understand video editing," Pete comments. "It's stable, and the interface is uncluttered, allowing me to turn around projects very quickly." Pete also particularly appreciates Media 100's audio, effects, and graphics capabilities, regularly taking advantage of multiple audio and graphics tracks. "Applying audio cross-fades is simple - and I love Boris RED's integration on the Media 100 timeline."
Boris RED, a $695 value, is bundled free with Media 100 Suite. It is a full-featured, professional tool for compositing, transitions, and text generation that can be accessed directly from the Media 100 timeline. With RED, unlimited layering, custom transitions, text generation, and animation with advanced keyframing are all available inside Media 100.
Pete concludes, "We will always have a need for media production at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. Media 100 has always been my go-to video editing software - and it has served us well for over a decade. As long as it continues to be supported, we will continue to use it."
